Research
My work sits at the intersection of epistemology, ethics, and the philosophy of action. Broadly speaking, I'm interested in the relationship between social life and rationality. In particular, I'm interested in the distinctive ways in which conversation, joint deliberation, and interpersonal relationships figure in our theoretical and practical reasoning.
In my dissertation, I develop a theory of reliance on persons and use it to illuminate a set of connected topics: trust, coordinative behavior, the nature of testimony, and what it means to share a point of view with someone.
